BLINK!

recently i read a book called BLINK!. it is about thinking without knowing that you are thinking. somehow the cover of the book really capture my attention. i took about 2 months to complete the book. the book talked about how our first impressions can be really true (not 100%) about something or somebody. and it also talk about thin-slicing. How we actually thin-slice what we hear and sea as we interact with people. and it also address of our biasness. many time we are affected by our prejudices withot even knowing it. how we often associate certain races more superior than others, or some races will be linked to bad things that happen.
i really find reading the book interesting. there is one particular example mention - the PEPSI challenge...for those who remember what this is all about. how we were surprise by the fact that people actually like the taste of PEPSI(P) instead of COKE(C) after ONE sip of each drink. Yet until now there still are more people drinking COKE. Why we prefer P yet still ended up drinking C? Because in the sip test, the sweetness of P appeals to our first impression but after drinking the whole can of P, we will be too overwhelmed by that taste...yet the tast of C keeps us wanting more especially after a good game of sport. i find this really fasinating. there are many more examples ound in the book.
anyone interested can borrow from me.
